AEW Rampage Results (1/7) – Jake Atlas Injured, Adam Cole, Hook, More

Welcome to tonight's LIVE AEW Rampage Viewing Party on WrestlingInc.com. Tonight's matches were recorded Wednesday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey (**SPOILERS**, if you're interested).

AEW is promoting four matches for tonight's show:

  • Adam Cole vs. Jake Atlas
  • Hook vs. Aaron Solo
  • AEW Women's Champion Dr. Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter vs. Riho & Ruby Soho
  • No Disqualification: Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz vs. Daniel Garcia & 2point0

Also, we are expecting the announcement of a change to Saturday night's Battle Of The Belts card. AEW tweeted late last night that the change is "due to medical protocol".

Adam Cole vs. Jake Atlas

Excalibur mentions Adam Cole is now the #1 ranked contender in AEW.

Lockup to start. Cole and Atlas trade holds before Atlas uses a headlock to take down Cole. Atlas gets the better of a brief grappling exchange.

A lot of reveals early in this match, including Cole missing The Boom. Chops by Atlas forces Cole into the corner. Now, Atlas works in some elbows in the corner and delivers a high knee.

Cole finally regains advantage by sending Atlas to the outside of the ring. On the floor, Cole sends Atlas headfirst into the ring post.

Back in the ring, Cole delivers some punches to the head of Atlas. A straight right hand by Cole puts down Atlas.

Atlas battles back out of the corner and hits a rolling elbow strike. A springboard by Atlas backfires as Cole catches Atlas with a backstabber. Cole grabs a headlock as we go into the picture-in-picture break.

Back from the break, both men are back to their feet. Atlas sends Cole to the floor. Atlas hits a tope suicida on Cole. Atlas springboards back in with a dropkick to Cole.

Cole retakes control with a pump kick and delivers some high-impact offense to firmly take control.

Cole runs in on Atlas but is met with a running boot from Atlas. A powerbomb by Atlas gets a 2-count.

Atlas goes for a springboard but is met with a superkick. Cole sets up for the Panama Sunrise but Atlas is favoring his knee. Cole audibles to a kneebar and that gets the win.

Adam Cole defeats Jake Atlas via submission.

Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish join Cole in the ring. Cole gets on the mic and says Atlas is going to get another a**-whipping. But Orange Cassidy and Best Friends arrive on the scene and Cole, Fish, and O'Reilly retreat.

Excalibur mentions Cody Rhodes is not cleared to compete on the Battle Of The Belts special Saturday night. Instead, it will be Dustin Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship. AEW's Twitter clarified that Saturday's match will be for the interim TNT Championship.

Back from the break with highlights from Wednesday's Dynamite and the three title matches on that show.

Tony Schiavone is backstage with Andrade El Idolo to inquire about his recent run-in with Sting and Darby Allin.

"This problem is not with Mr. Sting," Andrade says. "Why is little kid work for Sting?"

Tony tells Andrade that Darby does not work for Sting. Andrade says he's looking for a new assistant and tells Sting to name his price for his "little kid".

Hook vs. Aaron Solo (with QT Marshall)

Hook once again turns his back to his opponent before the match.

Match is underway and there's some hand-fighting before Hook powers Solo up and over for the takedown. Solo retreats to the ropes.

Hook uses a trip to take down Solo and Solo goes to the ropes to break the hold.

Hook pursues Solo into the corner and starts delivering some body shots. QT Marshall grabs Hook's boot from outside the ring and Solo strikes to gain the advantage.

Hook reverses an Irish whip into a Russian leg sweep. Hook ties up Solo for a bit before they both get back to their feet.

Hook delivers a shoulder capture suplex. He mounts Solo and delivers cross faces to Solo and locks in Redrum and that is all for Solo.

Hook defeats Aaron Solo via submission

Marshall is in the ring after the match and gets in Hook's face. So, Hook hits him with a head and arm suplex.

Ricky Starks has big news. He'll defend the FTW Championship against Matt Sydal at Battle Of The Belts.

We get a recap package of the street fight on last Friday's Rampage between Tay Conti & Anna Jay and The Bunny & Penelope Ford.

Ruby Soho & Riho vs. Dr. Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter (with Rebel)

Straight to the attack before the bell as Baker and Hayter go after Riho. Soho interjects and goes at it with Hayter. Finally, the bell rings as referee Aubrey Edwards regains control.

A series of double team moves by Riho and Soho on Hayter while she's in their own corner. That gets a 2-count on Hayter.

Hayter escapes and tags in Baker. Soho gains control of Baker, takes her down, and delivers a kick to Baker's chest.

Now, Riho is tagged in and gets a 2-count on Baker. She tags Soho back into the match. Baker regains control with some forearms against the ropes. Rebel grabs Soho's boot and Baker and Hayter takedown Soho to take control as we head to the picture-in-picture break.

Hayter and Baker worked on Soho's injured shoulder during the break.

Soho hits a suplex on Baker as we return from the break and makes the tag to Riho. Hayter is in now too. Riho with a head-scissor takedown. Hayter is in the ropes and gets the Tiger Feint Kick from Riho. Baker breaks up the pin attempt by Riho.

Riho launches off Baker and drives Hayter down with a DDT for a near-fall. Riho goes to the top rope, but Baker pushes her off.

Baker and Hayter double team Riho. Soho breaks up their pin attempt. Riho dodges a running forearm by Hayter and Hayter hits Baker instead. Riho rolls up Hayter and gets the pin.

Riho & Ruby Soho defeat Dr. Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter

A little pushing and shoving between Baker and Hayter after the match, but Rebel restores peace.

Dan Lambert is backstage with Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page. Lambert mocks the interim TNT Title match announced for Battle Of The Belts. Sky says he should just be given the TNT Championship because he hasn't been beaten in a long time. Page says they'll be watching closely Saturday night.

The pre-main event interview is just 2point0 jawing as Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz walk away. Turns out, they were heading for where 2point0 and Daniel Garcia were set up and the fight is on as we head to the break.

Jake Atlas tweeted out an update on his knee. Sounds like good news. He says he'll be fine.

Back from the break and the bell has rung and all six men are already brawling onto the stage and down the aisle toward ringside.

Kingston and bashing Garcia against the guardrails. Kingston gets a trash can and gets in the ring where Garcia uses some elbow strikes. Kingston fires back with a trash can to Garcia's head.

Kingston is choking Garcia with his shirt. More trash can shots by Kingston on Garcia. The other four guys are brawling around ringside.

Kingston takes Garcia outside the ring and bites him. Garcia gets the advantage back by pushing Kingston back-first into the side of the ring. Kingston and Garcia are both on the arena floor scratching and clawing at one another.

Kingston suplexes Garcia on the floor. Santana & Ortiz hit a double suplex on the floor to one of the 2point0 boys as we head to the picture-in-picture break.

During the break, Santana piledrives Jeff Parker onto the seat of an open steel chair set up at ringside. Garcia stomps a trash can on top of the leg of Kingston. Garcia is now putting his technical skills to work on Kingston's injured leg.

Back from break, Santana hits an assisted backward roll into a no-look cutter on Parker. Kingston takes down Garcia and Santana follows with a frog splash.

Matt Lee throws powder into the face of Santana. Ortiz breaks up the pin attempt. Lee recovers and hits a DDT on Ortiz.

Garcia has the ring bell. 2point0 hold up Kingston and Garcia hits him in the head with the ring bell. Somehow, Kingston kicks out.

2point0 double suplex Kingston through the timekeeper's table. Parker hits a low blow on Ortiz.

Santana gets a steel chair and takes down Garcia and 2point0 at ringside.

Garcia and Ortiz are back in the ring. They trade strikes. Santana now joins Ortiz in the ring and they hit a double-team maneuver on Garcia. Parker enters the ring and he eats a combination from Santana & Ortiz and that gets the pin.

Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz defeat Daniel Garcia & 2point0

Garcia & 2point0 attack after the bell. Garcia is taping Kingston's arms to the top rope.

Jericho has seen enough and heads down to the ring. Garcia & 2point0 retreat.
